Nickel Antimonate, NiSb2O6

Nickel Antimonate, NiSb2O6.5H2O, is obtained by precipitating nickel acetate with a solution of antimonic acid. The precipitate is a green mass, which becomes darker on desiccation, but yielding a pale green powder. When dried over sulphuric acid it loses three molecules of water, yielding the dihydrate, NiSb2O6.2H2O. Another molecule of water is expelled at about 160° C. and the salt becomes anhydrous at about 300° C.
