Nickel Vanadate, 3NiO.V2O5
Nickel Vanadate, 3NiO.V2O5, is obtained by fusing a mixture of vanadic acid, nickel bromide, and a large excess of sodium bromide, and washing the cooled product with dilute nitric acid. The crystals remaining are in the form of green prismatic needles. They do not melt at a bright red heat, and are insoluble in hot nitric acid. Fused potassium carbonate slowly attacks them.
